Jimmy Kimmel on Friday joined the web backlash in opposition to Senate Republicans who blocked witnesses from testifying within the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump with a biting tweet.
“That is what the improper facet of historical past appears to be like like,” the late-night TV host captioned a collage of the 51 Senate Republicans who, with their vote, successfully ensured Trump’s acquittal over the Ukraine scandal.
Solely GOP Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah) and Susan Collins (Maine) voted for witnesses. Kimmel tagged his tweet with the (majority anti-Republican) #ImpeachmentTrialSham hashtag, which trended nationally alongside #GOPCowards, #GOPCoverUp and #RIPAmerica.
51 to 49.
It is over at this level.
Donald Trump might be acquitted.
Democracy is formally cancelled.
Subsequent Tuesday, an American Dictator will rub all of this in our face throughout his State of the Union.
Now it is as much as The Folks. Register to vote. #ImpeachmentTrialSham
